Are there any teachers from CT that can confrim this?
this looks about right to me: I've been teaching for about 5 years in a large district and am about $3K from the average.
I've been in Hartford CT for 8 years. The pay is good--I have an MA plus 75 hours and make 78,000 a year. But working conditions aren't that good if you are in the innercity. Probably true anywhere, though. Cost of living is very high if you want to buy a house.
is there anything like 'forgiving' one's student loans if one is a teacher in Waterbury, CT? I heard that this may be possible if one is a teacher in the 'inner city' such as Waterbury.
I'm very interested in the answer to the question of loan forgiveness in this area. I read on an airline magazine that Yale Education Masters offers that if you work 5 years in a Title One school. Anyone know?
